Kori Construction has officially begun work on its new head office at Weldon Lodge in Corby, marking the milestone with a ceremonial ground-breaking event attended by the Kori employees who will be based in the new building.
The ground was broken by Steve Culbert, Founder, and Jordan Connachie, Managing Director, together with Malissa Akram, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, and Rhys Kingston, Trainee Site Manager, who will both be working on the project.
Weldon Lodge is a Grade II listed 18th-century farmhouse and the second oldest building in Corby. Phase 1 of the project involved restoring the original building, while Phase 2, which this ground-breaking marks the start of, will deliver a new two-storey office three times the size of Kori’s existing one.
Designed by Bindloss Dawes Architects, the new building adopts a simple, barn-inspired form using natural materials that complement the setting and the character of the original farmhouse. Landscaping will enhance the site and introduce new tree planting.
Jordan Connachie, Managing Director of Kori Construction, said:
“Breaking ground at Weldon Lodge is a really proud moment for everyone at Kori. This is a Grade II listed building with centuries of history, and having completed its restoration, we’re now excited to begin the next phase and create a new home for our team in Corby.
“The new office will give us the space to continue growing, while the setting and the character of the original lodge make it a special place to work. I’d like to thank everyone involved in getting us to this point, and I look forward to seeing the building take shape and, of course, moving in.”
Construction is now underway, with the new building expected to complete in summer 2027. The project is an important step in Kori’s continued growth and reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to investing in Corby and the wider region.
