A new chapter has begun at Wenham Holt, Liss, as Kori Construction starts work on a new 64-bedroom care home for Barchester Healthcare.
The start of construction was marked with a ground-breaking ceremony, bringing together representatives from Barchester Healthcare, Kori Construction, Holden & Lee and TDC Architects to celebrate the project getting underway.
The purpose-built home combines high-quality accommodation with a range of facilities intended to support residents’ independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
The completed development will include 64 spacious en-suite bedrooms, day and dining facilities, and a variety of communal areas providing opportunities for residents to socialise. Outside, landscaped gardens will provide attractive and accessible spaces where residents can enjoy the outdoors.
For Kori Construction, the project adds to an expanding portfolio of specialist care developments and marks the continuation of its established partnership with Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading care providers.
Richard Ball, HSEQ Director at Kori Construction, attended the ground-breaking event and said:

The project will have a positive impact beyond the physical development, with Kori’s Social Value Action Plan supporting a range of opportunities for the surrounding community during construction. This will include creating employment opportunities, contributing to skills development and building relationships with local organisations throughout the project.
With works now commenced, the new care home is expected to reach completion in 2028, ready to welcome its first residents.
