Exciting new project in South Oxhey

News

Everyone in #TeamKori is excited to have been appointed to a major new project.  The construction of Little Furze, a care home at South Oxhey, Hertfordshire, is due to get underway on March 6, and is being developed on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council.  The site sits next to the Oxhey Woods Local Nature Reserve meaning once completed, residents will benefit from beautiful, natural surroundings including mature native trees and rich wildlife.

As a result, great care has been taken to ensure the design of the care home is appropriate to its settings while at the same time, meeting the functional needs of residents.  The three-storey care home will include 75 bedrooms, communal spaces, external courtyards and communal spaces, a café, and other high quality amenities.  Pre-construction design work has been ongoing for 10 weeks and the initial work on site will include bulk earthworks, sheet piling and Section 38 road works.

Jordan Connachie, Managing Director of Kori Construction, said the scheme was one of the largest single contracts that the business had been appoint to.  “Little Furze demonstrates our ongoing progression of taking on bigger and more challenging schemes, and consistently delivering those in line with the client’s expectations.  We were extremely pleased to win this development and we’re looking forward to getting starting on site.”
