We’re excited to announce the recipients of the first round of our 2025 Kori Community Fund donations. A total of £5,897 has been awarded to a range of inspiring charities and community groups in Corby, Banstead, and Thurnby.
Banstead – Project Community Fund
As part of our Banstead Place project, we’ve supported two fantastic initiatives through our Project Community Fund – Adopt a Grandparent and RIFT Social Reform CIC.
Adopt a Grandparent is a heartwarming initiative that connects volunteers with older individuals in care homes to reduce loneliness and build meaningful relationships. Our £750 donation will fund weekly video calls for a year between three volunteers and their carefully matched “adopted grandparents.”
RIFT Social Reform CIC partners with HMP Brixton to deliver trade-specific training to prisoners, helping them transition into self-employment within the construction industry upon release. Our £1,750 donation will provide 4 half day courses delivered over 2 days, training a total of 40 individuals.
Thurnby – Project Community Fund
For our Uppingham Road, Thurnby project, we’ve also backed two initiatives – RIFT Social Reform CIC and St Luke’s Primary School.
Our £1,250 donation to RIFT Social Reform CIC will provide HMP Leicester with 25 self-employment workbooks, co-created with prisoners. These act as both educational and screening tools to help individuals assess their readiness for self-employment and navigate CIS, paving the way to careers in construction post-release.
St Luke’s Primary School is next door to our Uppingham Road, Thurnby project, and we’re proud to support the development of a school orchard and contribute to the creation of an outdoor gym for both pupils and the wider community with a £1,250 donation.
Corby – Community Fund
Finally, in our hometown of Corby, we’ve awarded £897 to Corby Kingswood Junior Football Club to sponsor home and away football kits for 10 local children, ensuring that every child in the team can turn up in style, feel comfortable, and be ready to play the game they love.
At Kori, we’re passionate about supporting our local community. That’s why we introduced the Kori Community Fund – an initiative designed to make a real, tangible difference and help improve the lives of people in our hometown of Corby and the areas surrounding our projects.
