Initiatives such as Earth Day 2022 help to concentrate the mind on what is important in life, and what we can do about it. But climate change is such a huge and scary topic that it is easy to feel helpless in the face of it, and bury our heads in the sand.
Yet even if you feel this way at times, we all need to do out bit, which is why Kori Construction has chosen Earth Day 2022 to announce our partnership with Planet Mark. The Planet Mark scheme is a fantastic initiative that helps businesses understand sustainability, where their emissions are being produced, and how they can be reduced.
We have decided to partner with the organisation to gain transparency over our own carbon footprint and to find ways of continually reducing it year on year. Ultimately, our aim is to get to net zero as quickly as we can.
Jordan Connachie, Managing Director of Kori Construction, said that as a purpose driven business, the company is committed to doing all it can to reduce its impact on the environment.
He said: “Earth Day 2022 and other such events serve to remind us that we all need to act and that climate change is not going to be sorted out by inaction. We believe in business as a force for good in our communities and we want to ensure we live up to that. Partnering with the Planet Mark scheme is a great way for us to become more accountable for our impact on the environment, and to manage and reduce that over time.”
