Kori has won a top industry award for its continued growth and commitment to delivering social value through its developments.
The Corby-based business was named SME of the Year at the Construction Excellence Awards Midlands 2023, which celebrates the best construction companies and developments across the region.
Kori fought off stiff competition to triumph at the awards ceremony, impressing the judges with its financial performance, 100% staff retention rate, and support for the communities and the environment surrounding its schemes.
The business has delivered more than £14m of social value to local communities this year alone, and has big plans to grow this figure as it is appointed to more projects across the UK.
Managing Director Jordan Connachie said he felt the business’s philosophy of trying to do the most good around each of its developments had helped it to triumph on the night.
He said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been named SME of the Year at the Construction Excellence Awards.
“The accolade recognises financial performance, which we have certainly achieved, growing turnover from £20m to £35m in a year.
“But it also recognises our ongoing efforts to help change and improve people’s lives through construction.
“As a contractor, our aim is to make sure we derive as much value as possible from each of our developments for our client, but also for the communities that surround them. This is very important to us.
“We try to do this while at the very least minimising our impact on the environment, and improving it where we can.
“We sincerely believe it is this approach that drives the financial performance. By committing to doing good, we naturally grow our bottom line, which is great for us, our clients, local communities, and the wider world.”
Jordan added he was very proud of each of the 40 members of staff who work at Kori Construction, who he described as advocates for how the construction industry can help to change people’s lives.
“We’re very lucky to have an extremely talented and committed team within the business who buy wholeheartedly into our values,” he said.
“This win is for them. Everyone has a role to play in making Kori Construction the business that it is, and we appreciate all of their efforts.”
